Virtual Reality has been slowly taking off for some time, and Oculus is already a leader on the playing field with the Oculus Rift. For their next headset – the Oculus Go – they’ve decided to take things to the next level, completely eliminating the need for a PC, wires, or any other device. Instead, the Oculus Go is an all-in-one VR device that can go anywhere you do.

Arriving early 2018, the Oculus Go is meant for watching movies or concerts, playing games, or just hanging out; Oculus advertises over 1000 games, movies and 360-degree experiences already available. They’ve introduced a new generation of high-resolution fast-switch LCD screens, with much improved visual clarity and much-reduced screen door effect, as well as lessened glare. They’ve also introduced improved spatial audio, with speakers built right into the headset, immersing you straight into VR world. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack. Oculus also touts the Go as the lightest, most comfortable headset yet, featuring breathable fabrics,  full adjustability, and even fits over glasses.

Again, the best part of all this – and what Oculus is banking on – is the fact that there are no wires. They’re calling it the “most accessible VR ever.” That in itself is reason enough for us. It ships early 2018 and will retail for $199.
