E-bikes were getting pretty popular for a while there, though they may have cooled off a little bit in the past year or so. The Xmera looks to rejuvenate the niche, however, by being the first “bionic bike” – a bike that uses well-placed “body sensors” to detect important metrics like heart rate and exertion, while also being styled like a good old-fashioned café racer.
XMera: Classic Looks, High Tech
Well, it looks something like a café racer – but it’s still a bicycle. You still gotta pedal it, even if there is a battery helping pump out a 750W, 20 MPH max speed. It can get a max range of 37 miles, but lets you carry a backup battery to stay on the road longer. The modular design allows you to customize it further to your liking, too.
Classic motorcycle looks and batteries aren’t what separates this “Bionic Bike” apart, however. That honor belongs to all the tech they’ve integrated into the thing, from the Beats Per Minute monitor integrated into the bike computer for monitoring important metrics. This allows the controller, as it the computer is called, to automatically adjust power and assist in accordance with your pedaling speed and your set mode; ride modes include Workout Mode, Auto Mode and Dynamic Mode, among others. Plus models even come with a special wristband that monitors pulse and output, feeding this info directly to the bike controller.

The XMera comes into two models: the regular Xmera, with a single rear hub motor, an Xmera Plus, which comes with both Front and Rear hub motors.
