Imagine the scenario: You are leaving your house for a job interview. However, you cannot find your house keys. You check under the couch, in all your kitchen drawers, and even the refrigerator. One of the worst feelings is losing an important accessory, such as your wallet, keys, or phone. If you have somewhere to be, taking time to search for your belongings can be frustrating or make you late. Fortunately, the Tile Pro Tracker can be used to find all your important possessions, wherever they might be. The Tile Pro Tracker is an updated version of the Tile Mate which came out a few years ago–and now with steroids.
Tile Pro Tracker is a small square shaped device you can attach to your keychain, put in your wallet, store in a pocket, etc. Here’s how they work: First, download the Tile app on your phone and register your tiles. Next, place the tiles in any item you want to keep track of–keys, wallet, bags, purses, etc. When the app is open, you can use your phone’s Bluetooth to locate the tile and play a ringing sound so you can find it. The companion app can locate tiles within 300 ft. of your phone.
Keep the Tile app running in the background and it will remember the last place you had your item. Never again will you lose your car keys in the couch cushions. The CR2032 batteries in each tile are guaranteed for one year after activation and are easily replaceable, so you don’t have to worry about the tiles running out of juice.
You can even use the Tile trackers to find your phone if that gets lost. Clicking the front button twice will make your phone ring, even if it is on silent. Perhaps the coolest feature of the Tile Pro Tracker is its Active Community Find. Your tile can actually use other peoples’ tiles as a relay to find items that are further than 300 ft. away. As soon as someone using a tile app comes within 300 ft. of your item, it will send you its location. Using your phone, you can find where your stuff is. So if you misplace your stuff and your tile app is not finding it, other people’s tiles will keep you updated.
The only drawback is that in order to find your tiles, the app must be open, your phone GPS must be on, and Bluetooth must be running. The combination of these three things at once can drain your phone battery quicker than normal. If you are prone to misplace your gear, giving up some battery life may be worth it in the long run.
