Quick, think multitool. What’s the first thing that pops into your head? For us, it’s the name Leatherman. Along with Swiss Army Knife and Gerber, they are one of the most tried-and-true brands of multitools and knives around, and one of the few names that everybody recognizes in a world full of quality blades.
That’s a bold claim; world’s smallest multitool. But we’re almost confident 3Coil can claim the title with the Puna. This tiny little tool really puts the mini in mini multitool. Coming in at about 3” long, super thin, and fitting well within the palm of your hand, the Puna looks like an AR-15 (for some reason) but contains 5 different useful tools: a scalpel blade, bottle opener, screwdriver bit, micro screwdriver, keychain.

You probably have noticed, we at Gear for Life appreciate multi-functional products...gear that can be used multiple ways in multiple settings. Fenix Worldwide is known for their high-quality lighting gear. On of Fenix's newest releases is just what we value, the multi-use Fenix CL09 LED flashlight. Even though it is promoted as a camping lantern, we see many other uses. How many times have you been under the sink trying to work on the plumbing but you just can't see the problem. You have a flashlight but it won't shine on the problem--you need a third hand to hold it in place! The Fenix CL09 has a built-in magnet base and a hanger so placing it where you need light is resolved. The light diffuser also disperses the light an evenly 360 degrees. So think of all the places you can hang or stick the little torch to help you with those "honey do lists."
Who said EDC can't be classy? While most pocket knives and EDC tools are made with utility and function in mind, and not so much matching with your best work clothes, the Gerber Pocket Square Knife seeks to do just that.
Consider this an addendum to our Top 5 Keychain Knives. The Tactyk BLADE - currently raising funds over on Kickstarter - is a compact, slim titanium keychain knife that not only fits perfectly in your pocket, but actually looks pretty sick too, with it's distinct, smooth tactical look.
The usefulness and necessity of a good EDC pocket knife is universally well known, and no self-respecting outdoorsman, adventurer - or anyone who prides himself on being prepared - heads out without one. By their very nature, pocket knives are compact and convenient, sliding right into your pocket or clipping to your belt without taking up too much space. Still, there are places and occasions where a regular pocketknife is just too big. It's these times when keychain knives come in to play.
The last few Leatherman knives we have highlighted have had some premium features, perhaps even been the king of all multitools. But the Style CS is something a little bit different, a very small and slim multi-tool, reminiscent of classic pocketknifes (like Swiss Army Knives) and without any unnecessary flair.
Step it up and fidget like a boss. The new Bastion Gear INFINITY CUBE EDC Fidget Spinner isn't a toy. It is a serious concentration device. Yes, fidget "toys" seem to be a craze. However, there is scientific proof that fidgeting does improve concentration. The INFINITY CUBE is a bit classier than those in the junior high classrooms.

The Leatherman MUT is a capable multi-tool, completely operable with only one hand. Leatherman designed it with military and law enforcement in mind, decking it out with an array of tools (16, to be exact) suitable for both tactical and everyday use. This includes several different threaded spots for attaching cleaning rods and additional tools, and the screwdriver bits are sized for adjusting both military and civilian scopes and sights.
Looking for something simple, small and classy? Slipjoints are classic knives, and Benchmade - long a trustworthy name in knife-making - has made nice, reliable slipjoint in their 319 Proper, billing it as a "modern take on a classic gentleman's knife". It has the look of a classic, old-fashioned jackknife, but with the materials and durability of modern EDC must-haves.
Do you think it is impossible to put 11 tools in your pocket at once? You can with the SOG Sync I Knife and Multi-tool. SOG has taken multi-tools to a new level. The Sync 1 can fit easily into your pocket, or you can clip it on your belt using the detachable base. You can always get creative and clip it on a boot strap or other hidden area. Omega didn't disappoint with their 2017 Basel World releases; specifically the Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer. We are suckers for the original Speedmaster series from Omega. It's hard to beat in it's understated class. The new Racing Master Chonometer steps it up a notch with the orange accents paying homage to it's motor racing heritage. Arrowhead indexes filled with Super-Luminova and the expanded subdials set off this beautiful update of the original 1968 Speedmaster design.
