Public Rec Makes Ridiculously Comfortable Athleisure Clothing

Athleisure – athletically-styled, technical clothing meant to be worn for comfort in all casual situations – is still big. And while there are lot of athleisure brands all vying for a slice of the market, a few stand out from the pack. Public Rec is one of them.

Public Rec’s commitment to comfortable, stylish athletic wear that you can still rock outside the house and the gym is commendable, and their passion comes through. As they quip on their site, its where outdoor style meets indoor comfort. For those of us who just LOVE lounging around the home without taking off their sweatpants, but still have obligations outside the home, that’s a welcome mission.

Public Rec started a few years back with the All Day Every Day Pant (hereafter called the ADED). These pants combine the casual comfort and stretchiness of joggers…with sharp looks that don’t feel out of place when hitting up the town or even in business casual workplaces. Made from a breathable, moisture-wicking, stretchy blend of nylon and spandex, it’s mostly a sweatpant…but one that you can feel “good” about wearing outside of the home, without looking like you just rolled out of bed. And – like good jeans or dress pants – they come in both waist and inseam sizes.

If the ADED Pants still aren’t sharp enough for you, check out their Workday Pant. These are 5-pocket styled pants are intended for even dressier occasions than the ADED Pant, for when “jeans are too casual” and “chinos too uncomfortable”. They’re a “unique” blend of polyester and spandex, for stretch, comfort and moisture-wicking, but look just as sharp as your classic pair of chinos. So when looks matter – reach for these bad boys.

Public Rec does more than pants, too, with a collection of casual-but-sharp t-shirts and polos that combine fabrics like TENCEL, Pima cotton and spandex to create stretchy, breathable, quick-drying pieces as comfortable as they are good-looking.

The pride of their tops, however, is the Crosstown Bomber. With a trim silhouette, it looks effortlessly sharp…but is still effortlessly casual. Made from the same stretchy, breathable blend of nylon and spandex fabric as the Workday pants, the Crosstown Bomber feels like something you’d lounge around at home in, just in terms of comfort. But it’s sharp enough to go out to do dinner, out for drinks or just to wear around town. Heck, you can wear it to or from work or to the gym…it’s pretty much the ideal combo of versatile + casual. And it rocks the features you’re looking for in any piece of outerwear; headphone ports and zippered pockets.

So, if you’re looking for an outfit that you can wear around town (and yes, maybe even to work) without losing the comfort of being at home…give Public Rec a shot. You’ll like what you see.
