A few months back, at iCast 2017, Gerber announced their latest addition to their arsenal of knives and multitools – the Fishing Collection. Aptly named, as it is intended for hardcore anglers and those who find themselves heading off the beaten path in pursuit of piscary prestige.
The Fish Line features 12 diverse, functional multi-tools and knives, which have been designed to do more while remaining smaller and taking up less room in your kit than most other multitools. These include the Linedriver, a line-management multitool that helps you keep the line in the water. One end rotates to allow you to quickly tie knots and clear eyelets, and one end has a crimper, hook threader and scissor nips. It then clips onto your pocket and there’s a tether point for easy access.
Pliers are essential fishing items, and the Magnipliers are 7.5” pliers, made with hot-forged aluminum construction, and Gerber’s BearHand Control, their ergonomic design system that transfer your grip strength right into cutting power. A thumb lock and ambidextrous tether points make it safely and easily accessible.
Another innovative tool we like are the Processor Take-Apart shears, which serve as both standard scissors for cleaning a catch, and heavy-duty cutting shears; the blade features an exposed fine-edge blade, a gut hook, scaler, and a fin clipper. You can take them apart to access all the features, but this is easy and takes a split second, and makes cleaning easier. Simply snap it apart and together.
