What, exactly, is so good about the Trailhead Adventure Pants that they were able to raise $424,466 on Kickstarter? They claim to be the highest funded technical pants ever, so they must be good.
The Trailhead Adventure Pants are made to be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible, but that’s not why they’re so great. The pants themselves use a proprietary fabric that is stain proof, waterproof, durable, and packable. It’s a recycled nylon ripstop with four-way stretch from Spandex, combined with DriFit technology. The result is a fabric so water repellent that liquid beads up and rolls right off it. It’s breathable and moisture-wicking, as demanded of technical pants these days, and the waterproof coating will survive dozens of washes.
The details and stitching are exactly done; each stitch is reinforced, and flat felled for extra durability and strength. The pockets are made from what they call a synthetic silk for plush comfort. There are ankle drawstrings, and you can wear them like pants, shorts or capris. An elastic drawcord keeps the waist taut and comfortable. The ergonomic crotch gusset ensures the pants won’t rip or blow out on you during some high-octane adventures. Because that sucks (speaking from experience).
Lastly, these things are pretty dang packable. Weighing about 10.9 ounces, you can roll them and stuff them into their own pouch, taking up little precious room or weight in your bag. The fabric also claims to be anti-microbial, keeping odors and bacteria away. And while we wouldn’t consider the look office-ready, Coalatree wants you to wear these pants straight from the trail into the indoors. OR maybe the other way around. Heck, they’re comfortable and stretchy enough to be worn rock climbing, biking, running, you name it.
The Trailhead Adventure Pants are available for as little as $90 post Kickstarter, and Coalatree keeps the price down by cutting out the middleman, so you get high-quality goods without the high-quality price tag.
Kickstarter project is over so now is the time to pick up some of these amazing pants.
